A Gettysburg man was sentenced to two decades in prison in a case involving sexual abuse of minors.

Justin T. Bridgins, 25, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual contact with children under the age of 16 years old. On each count, he was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, an official said. The terms will be served consecutively.

Bridgins was given credit for 144 days served. He must pay $73 in court costs on each charge, repay court-appointed attorney charges and pay for the cost of his psychological evaluation. He must also register as a sex offender.

Authorities say the crimes occurred in spring and involved children younger than 10 years old who, at some point, were at a home day care run by Bridgins' wife. In exchange for the guilty pleas, other charges against Bridgins, including rape, were dismissed.

Sexual contact with a minor is a felony punishable by as much as 15 years in state prison and a $30,000 fine. Bookmark and Share
