Football playoffs down to 12 games; John Papendick's Football semifinal picks
Published on Saturday, November 07, 2009
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The teams advancing to the state championships will be determined Saturday in the semifinal round of the South Dakota high school football playoffs.
A dozen games will be played around the state. Ten of the 24 teams in the semifinals are unbeaten, including all four teams in the Class 11B division.
Three of last year's state champions are still in the playoffs: Hanson and Avon in nine-man, and Tri-Valley in the 11-man class.
The state championship games are Nov. 12-14 in the DakotaDome.
